Tuesdays Child
by hejira

I am planting a flower for you today,
underneath your lilac shade,
my owl, my rabbit, my Tuesday,
I feel so lost,
no knock at the door, no chattering to the birds,
one half of my bookends is gone, but the other remains, your mirror image,
Tuesdays child,
I know your gone,
but I still feel you,
Ruby Tuesday,
the gentle brush of your fur against my skin,
your purr vibrating through my whole being,
you've made me laugh, now I have cried for you,
thank you for sharing your life with me,
Goodbye my owl, my rabbit, my Tuesday, my friend.
